So ive been doing some research for a sustainablity essay and ive come across this little excerpt from my textbook.

The total expenditure, per year, for world military ventures is $1.2 trillion! America alone utilizes $560 billion of this total for their military as well as another $30 billion for potato chips/snacks and cosmetics.

Take that in for a second.

Now to reforest the earth, protect forests, restore rangelands, stabilize water tables, deal with global HIV/AIDS, restore fisheries, provide universal primary education, protect topsoil on cropland, protect biodiversity, provide basic health care for all, provide clean drinking water and sewage treatment for all and eliminate hunger and malnutrition would cost....

$245 billion dollars!

How fucked up is the world... if we stopped fighting each other and chilled out a bit more everyone could be living large and not having to worry about all them goombas!
