Kate Mara

It's coming up to the end of semester and I have a lot to do. I think my riding time might even have to be cut down a day. Hounding.

Even worse, my usual riding accomplices are MIA this weekend. On a better note, I received Bonedeth and it is delightful!

Anyway, the focus of this post is in relation to the Kris Bennett interview in UK ride No.80. There was one really interesting answer which caught my attention;

You said something yesterday about trails. About when you build sections, all that you care about is that you get to ride them, and you don't give a shit who helps build?

There's just a lot of trail Nazi shit going on these days. Everyone is trying to be the trail Nazi. There are a couple places where the people are real strict, and for good reason, and they need to be. But a lot of kids now I think just do it to be cool. I don't know why they do it. A lot of it is just a bunch of bullshit. I've built jumps every day. I've been doing it for twelve years now, and i don't care if somebody helps me or not. The main thing is that I build jumps that i can ride. And the more people that come and ride them with me the better, as far as I'm concerned. I just build shit for me to ride. If somebody rides it that didn't help dig it, it doesn't make it less enjoyable for me, so I don't give a shit.

I think his answer was true in every aspect. Even though I don't build trails, let alone ride trails, I can concur with his thought process.

In addition, Bennett used to do the textbook tucks with one foot off as well. Which is the proper etiquette for the trick.
